  • You are welcome to book a free consultation before booking your initial consultation. Both can be done virtually for your convenience. You can book a free consultation on our website. A free consultation will help you better understand how we can assist you in your wellness journey. After your free consultation, you will book an initial consultation in which one of our practitioners will review your health history to help create a custom treatment plan.

  • You can see the same practitioner each time or a different practitioner if that works best for your schedule. Our Montecito Wellness Clinic practitioner team works collaboratively to ensure the consistency of patient care.

  • We do not accept insurance; however, we can provide the receipt of your treatment with relevant codes for you to submit to your insurance provider.

  • If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please give us a 24-hour notice to avoid a fee.

  • If you have any recent blood work (within three months of your appointment) or other case-relevant tests, please bring it with you for your practitioner to see. Before coming to the clinic, you will be asked to fill out patient and consent forms that will be sent to you, and you will have the option to add the tests mentioned above to your patient portal.

  • Our acupuncturists are board-certified clinical herbalists, which means they are trained in the safety of herb-drug interaction. Your practitioner may prescribe an herbal formula based on your case and health history.

  • We kindly ask that you have a credit card on file with us before coming into the clinic for your appointment; please get in touch with us if you need to make alternative payment arrangements.

  • We use disposable hair-thin acupuncture needles from the highest quality surgical stainless steel. Although each individual has a unique perception of acupuncture, some people might feel a tiny pinch upon insertion, followed by a feeling of relaxation and well-being that lasts well beyond the treatment.

  • We see most patients weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the case. Each individual's health history and goals are unique. Some conditions may respond to treatment faster, while some chronic imbalances may need more time to see results. Your practitioner will create a custom treatment plan unique to your case to help you meet your goals. Symptoms often get resolved faster, while the underlying root cause of an imbalance may require more time.

  • Chinese Medicine is a complete system of medicine used in Asia for thousands of years to treat a wide range of imbalances. It is found to be especially effective for chronic disorders. We encourage patients dealing with complex issues to book a free consultation with one of our practitioners to find out how acupuncture and herbal medicine can be helpful.

  • We recommend keeping activities to a minimum after treatment to allow your body to heal and integrate your treatment fully.

  • We recommend having a light meal or snack before your treatment.

  • Our acupuncture practitioners have passed an exam in the Clean Needle Technique, which is one of the ways we ensure practice to the highest standards. Montecito Wellness Clinic uses single-use, sterile acupuncture needles disposed of according to safety regulations after each treatment.

  • Our practitioners have completed at least a four-year Master's degree and are licensed and board-certified clinical herbalists. We exercise caution when prescribing botanical medicine to ensure it doesn't interfere with our patients' prescription medications. We use only the highest quality herbs sourced in the US and manufactured under strict regulations.
